Speed Date [Arista & Gilbert]

With a yawn, Gilbert entered the area for speed dating. It wasn't that he needed help with getting a lover, not that he really wanted one to be completely honest, but he thought he would sign up for it anyways. Besides, it would be amusing to see what kind of people showed up for this sort of thing, if only to make fun of those that he knew. He looked around for some sort of chart or whatever he was supposed to read to find his date, but judging by the crowd of people that were looking over at the wall, it seemed like it would take a while.

He was just going to sit back for a while and wait it out when he was approached by... Arista Karpusi? She was going to be his date? He didn't know what to think of it, so he just shrugged and gave her a nod.

She nodded back at him, her arms loosely crossed over her chest. This was probably going to be awkward. She hoped that they found some common ground and managed to emerge from this with good memories; She had a feeling that if this became awkward, work relations between them would become awkward. And she felt a bit like a cougar, doing this with Gilbert. She was older than him by a lot after all.

She gestured at a near by table, biting her lip slightly before straightening out and smiling at him. She was going to make the best of this, no matter the circumstances. “Should we sit down then?”

"Alright, how about over here?" Gilbert asked, leading her over to a table that had an adequate amount of privacy without being completely secluded. As the fact that he was on a date with his boss started to sink in, the German started to feel nervous. This wasn't going to go so well. He couldn't talk about his exploits at work with her, she would surely fire him. Yes, those things he would talk about with other people, but she was the one person he tried to keep from finding out. It looked like speed dating would be more of a hassle than originally planned.

Well, since he couldn't talk about work with her and he was certain that they would never end up romantically involved, he decided he might as well play it up a bit. It wouldn't hurt to get on her good side, as long as she didn't think he was teasing her. Once they reached the table, he pulled the chair out for her with a flourish and motioned for her to sit. "Well, shall we begin our awesome date, my lady?"

Overdoing it was not in his vocabulary after all!

She followed him over to the table, looking at the tables around it and liking the fact that it was a bit secluded from the rest of the restuarant. She didn't want to deal with the people who would notice her age and then compare it to his...he did look a lot younger after all.

Arista blinked as Gilbert pulled her chair out for her, smiling slightly at his words. "Oh? What makes you so sure that this is going to be an awesome date?" She wondered, thanking him as she sat down. A bit of polite behaviour was never a bad thing, and her opinion of him went up a little bit for it. Not that her opinion of him was low in the first place; but it could never get too high.
